Regarding Mike Gravel

Believe it or not, I am not an agent of the DNC blogging incognito, but rather, a right-leaning moderate thoroughly disgusted with both major parties. I fully intend to discuss each and every candidate that is seeking our approval to become the next U.S. President. I arbitrarily started with the Dems, so I would like to finish that side of the aisle before moving on to the GOP. That said, lets take a closer look at Mike Gravel, starting with this clip from the first Dem Debate:

Hungry for more? Behold Mr. Steven Colbert’s report:

Mike Gravel possesses the most important trait for any candidate seeking the Zaphod-for-President seal of approval: chutzpa. I for one think Gravel’s presence is humorous, charming and direct, all without being needlessly confrontational. On an emotional level, I like him. He seems like the kind of guy I usually end up talking to at parties.

Mike Gravel left Washington back when I was still suckling at my mother’s teet. He served Alaska back in the time before Google (a.k.a. “the Stupid Ages”), and as a result, his OnTheIssues.org page is nearly blank. When asked by Chris Mathews where he had been hiding these past 20-some years, Mr. Gravel replied:

I’ve been hiding under a rock.

Does Mr. Gravel deserve my vote? The jury is still out. However, after an impressive showing at the debate, he is most certainly on my political radar from here on out.

Congrats to both Mike Gravel and Ron Paul for showing up the establishment in the MSNBC debates. ‘Graveltational Paul’, check it out. Supporters of both of these candidates need to work together to make sure each gets their message heard by the people.

His “There’s nothing to win” sums it up perfectly.
