Now that I’ve removed most of the overgrown jungle from my yard, I realize I have destroyed major pieces of the in-ground irrigation system (shovel + pvc pipe = leaks). As a result, the remaining fragments of my lawn are quickly deteriorating into a depressing shade of brown.

At first I assumed that an irrigation system was pretty simple; just a few PVC pipes attached to sprinkler heads. Wrong. It turns out that I should have paid more attention during the “fluid mechanics” portion of my physics class.

Lucky for me, Jeff Stryker has provided a wonderful source of irrigation tutorials for all to see. If you’ve been fighting with your sprinklers lately, you might want to take a peek.
