Spot the Racist

Have you seen this picture yet?

Tom Tancreno was the only Republican to show up to the recent NAACP presidential debate. Many people have contacted me with this photo, as though it somehow proves Ron Paul is a racist.

Let’s play a quick game: spot the racist. I am going to share with you two brief quotes, and I would like you to tell me which one is racist.

Before we begin, a quick definition:

Racism: a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement.

Contestant number one- the NAACP:

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination.

Contestant number two- Ron Paul:

Still, the left argues that stringent federal laws are needed to combat racism, always implying of course that southern states are full of bigoted rednecks who would oppress minorities if not for the watchful eye of Washington. They ignore, however, the incredible divisiveness created by their collectivist big-government policies.

Quick- who is the racist?

Bonus question: are either truly racist?

Super bonus question: what race are you? Were you able to document the racial identity of your great-great-great-great grandmother?

Super duper bonus question: didn’t we all evolve from bonobo chimps? Isn’t “race” a moot point?
