“Article II Section 1 paragraph 5 shall be amended to read as follows; Qualification to attain the Office of President shall be vested in natural born Protestant Christian White Male Citizens of the United States that have attained the Age of sixty five Years. Inhabitants of the State of New York are excluded from attaining the Office of President.”
The original text of Article II Section 1 paragraph 5 to the Constitution reads: “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”
The new Amendment to the Constitution is necessary to level the playing field for Presidential contenders. Openly homosexual candidates are in no way affected by the new Amendment. In fact the new Amendment should be widely received by the AARP for being pro-Senior Citizen. It is high time that we give older Americans a fighting chance and to protect their interests. Let them share with us their great wisdom.
Granted, some candidates like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama may feel left out, but there is no prohibition against them running for Office or even becoming Vice-President. The Amendment is so fair that even some Republican candidates will find themselves in jeopardy. Think Rudy Giuliani and even Mitt Romney.
For over two hundred years with the exception of Kennedy, the Amendment would seek to preserve our tradition and heritage. Just imagine if FDR and Bill Clinton never held office. Can we really trust anyone but an older Protestant White Male born in America? Does this fit with your own Hollywood stereotype of what a President should look like?
How are you going to explain it to your children? Seriously, think about it. This has no ideological implications either. We could still elect a flaming Socialist or a nutty Conservative. You still get to choose. In theory we could elect a poor homosexual to the White House. Think twice before labeling this Amendment as bad or somehow discriminatory.
After all Protestant White Males over 65 are in the MINORITY. This Amendment protects minorities. It is a sort of “affirmative action” program that is long overdue. While it may be redundant and even repugnant, you know like it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! So c’mon and support an Amendment that will ensure your children and grandchildren will never have to live under a young non-white female atheist President. Do it for the children. Remember: Do it for the Children.
