Double Standard

Yesterday I explained how the New Zealand Parliament was offended by works of satire. Today, I found this story on digg, showing the following billboard by Hell Pizza:

Now, before you even start with me- I am no fan of George W. Bush. But that’s not my point. This is a blatant double standard: New Zealand’s Parliament would forbid Kiwi’s from mocking their government, but see no problem with Kiwi’s mocking our government.

Well, what else should we expect from a government that feels beating up children is the government’s duty? For shame, Kiwi Parliament, for shame!

And for the sake of clarity: my opinion is simple- everyone should make fun of everyone in government. Never forget: these clowns work for us.

Reagan once remarked to a Soviet Official: “You see, the difference between our systems is that our citizens can protest our government.”

The old Soviet Official roared back: “Our citizens can protest YOUR government too!”

I’m sure I’ve bungled the wording, but I’m too lazy to even google it.
