Here is an offer of compromise to my fellow pro-life Americans:

Roe v. Wade is repealed, contingent on the reduction of child abuse to 1 in 1,000 children.

In other words, motivate your great political machinery to campaign on the cause of children’s rights. Protect the least of Jesus’ brothers. Then, once radical reductions in abuse have been shown statistically, the concept of abortion will be far-less acceptable to the wishy-washy flip-floppers like me. Once returned to the state level, you will have greater success.

In the meantime, whether on state or federal level, I am not so convinced that abortion is always wrong. I believe a considerable number of Americans agree with me, and thus, your success will be limited.

Just a thought.
