Nitro, WV to Cave City, KY

Today I woke up in Nitro, WV and I will fall asleep here in Cave City, KY.

Me and GFunk (my partner-in-crime during this adventure) spent the afternoon checking out “Chevy Chase Village” and the University of Kentucky in Lexington. We ate lunch at “Ramsey’s” on High Street, which I would recommend to any lover of country fried steak and mashed potatoes.

Also, I accidentally stumbled across Mrs. Zaphod’s dream house:

My opinion: Lexington, KY is a classic southern “campus town”; many beautiful trees, plentiful parks, lots of local art and music, good eats, and friendly people. Also: saw plenty of anti-war and anti-Bush stickers/signs/posters- a good reminder that not everyone living in the “fly-over states” has lost their minds.

Tomorrow: Mammoth Cave and Nashville, TN.
