My reaction to the poor girl in Palmdale, California and the student tasered at the University of Florida is: may they get massive extraordinary judgments against their schools, the police departments and the officers personally. When I mean massive, I say BILLION DOLLAR JUDGMENTS. Sounds disproportionate? That’s my point. Disproportionate force was used. Would these victims ever collect? Probably not even a small fraction, but there is vast symbolism in such a verdict.
