A few additional thoughts:

This “nappy head” slur dilutes the issue. Racism and freedom of speech aside, there was no reason to break a little girl’s wrist. We do not need any additional reason to object to this grievous violation of a fellow American’s civil rights.

Arresting the mother, and the daughter, only serves to add fuel to the fire. Dumb move, Palmdale school district.

They also arrested the students who filmed the attack. On what grounds? Do they have a lawyer yet? Where is the ACLU on this?

Suspending the mother without pay? Are you fucking kidding me? Apparently the Palmdale school district enjoys paying out large civil settlements.

The girl dropped cake, and she picked it up. That’s where this incident should have ended. From that point on, everything the Palmdale school district did was illegal, immoral, and simply unacceptable.

I’m not a parent. I don’t live in Palmdale. If I was, if I did, I would not allow my children to return to this school until a) this security guard had been fired and arrested and b) this mother’s job had been reinstated.
