According to Digg The Candidates, the three most popular Democratic candidates are:

• Barack Obama - 6,944 friends
• Dennis Kucinich - 6,093 friends
• Mike Gravel - 2,095 friends

The three most popular Republican candidates are:

• Ron Paul - 13,905 friends
• Mike Huckabee - 870 friends
• Fred Thompson - 551 friends

Digg.com is not a scientific poll. It can be, and is, gamed on a regular basis. However, speaking from the gut, this is the first psuedo-poll which I think is a fair representation of the youth vote.

The million dollar question: will they show up on election day? My fingers are crossed.

Note: I am a “friend” of Kucinich, Gravel and Dr. Paul. In our current system, I will be forced to vote for only one, and so far, Dr. Paul remains the best choice for me. That said, this certainly illustrates a strong case for instant-runoff voting.
