Money Well Spent (Ron Paul v. HR 1955)
A few of my more cynical friends have mocked me for openly donating money to Ron Paul. A typical response is something like this: “why are you throwing your money away on a can’t-win candidate?”
I have not thrown away anything; my donations, and your donations, to Dr. Ron Paul is money well spent.
HR 1955 is an Orwellian piece of bullshit designed to intimidate those of us on the outskirts of civilized discourse. It recently passed in the U.S. House of Representatives by a vote of 404 to 6.
Among those 6 voting against it: Dr. Ron Paul.
This is why we fight. This is why we donate. This is why we edit videos. This is why we approach you on the street.
Believe me when I say: if it were up to me, I would leave you in peace. However, you are in danger, danger of finding yourself in the midst of an aggressive fascist state. As a psuedo-Jew, and more importantly, as a human being, I simply cannot allow this to go on without raising my voice in protest. If my protesting offends you, please forgive me, and try to visualize the greater good.
The tragedy is this: sooner or later, the reality of our situation will become painfully clear to even the most self-deluded among you. The real question is this: once you finally wake up, will we still have the mechanisms in place to repair government without violence?
In the words of Barry Goldwater; “I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue!”
What is HR 1955? Within the pages of this unconstitutional document lies the authority to eliminate this blog, along with any blog, for daring to dream of a better world.
