I really have no idea what to make of this, but Mitt Romney dropped out of the Republican race earlier today. You can see a video and article from the Washington Post here.

I really don’t know what to make of this. If forced to assume, Romney will back McCain, thus ending the race for the GOP nomination (McCain’s 714 delegates plus Romney’s 286 totals 1,000 even, leaving McCain a mere 191 delegates away from clinching the nomination).

If, for whatever reason, Romney backs Huckabee (286 + 191 = 477 delegates), John McCain is still leading strong with 714.

If Huckabee follows Romney’s lead, withdrawls, and backs McCain, (1000+191) he already has the GOP nomination, and our dreams of a convention fight are gone.

Strange days indeed.
