Cheers to Bill Cunningham!
John McCain really better watch it with Talk Radio. Limbaugh doesn’t love him and now apologizing for Bill Cunningham is way over the top. Barack Obama’s middle name is Hussein. Limbaugh had used it months ago and I use it myself to knock Obama.
What’s the big deal? Let’s face the reality a moment. Barack is not your typical American of African heritage. He isn’t the brotha on the corner with the 40. He isn’t proud home owner in the suburbs of Atlanta. I say call a spade a spade. The man’s middle name is Hussein. It isn’t Harry, it isn’t Henry. Cunningham was totally in line.
What was Cunningham insinuating after all? A connection to Saddam Hussein. Possibly. Obama has been opposed to the War. Perhaps, Cunningham was trying to connect Obama to Islam. Alright, so what? Few Christian parents give their children the middle name of Hussein.
Nobody is suggesting Obama isn’t qualified to be President because of his middle name or origins. But why is everyone so afraid to call him out on his origins? It’s like we show a picture of Obama in East African Islamic Garb, then we’re suppose to apologize. We call him by his middle name, then we’re suppose to apologize. Why is Obama ashamed of his heritage? I didn’t think being Muslim was bad. I didn’t think being from East Africa was bad. Heck, aren’t we all originally from that part of the World?
Obama’s campaign is actively trying to deceive the American people about his origins. He may as well have changed his name to Barry O’Bama. Because most Americans deep in their heart of hearts are uncomfortable with Barack. The media desperately wants to dumb us down, enforce political correctness and secretly wishes to martyr him. Yes, I said martyr. They view Obama as a mix between JFK & MLK, the two untouchable ’60’s icons. This is the Baby Boomer’s wet dream.

If anything, this “Hussein Obama”, with complimentary “Obama wearing a turban pic” is a play on good-ole fashioned American xenophobia.
You might be surprised to know I have several clients named “Mohammed”- and even more interesting- most of them live in the UK, are very polite, and pay well.
If anything, I view Obama’s Islamic heritage as an asset, rather than a detriment.
Here’s the bottom line: after 5 years of blowing the shit out of Iraq, we have come up against the limitations of this strategy. Either a) we commit to total genocide or b) at some point we will need to negotiate a lasting peace.
I oppose genocide, and feel that Obama is in a unique position to repair US-Islamic relations. He’s still a CFR hack, but his name is hardly a consideration as far as I’m concerned.
Furthermore, all of his opponents (other than Ron Paul) have supported the War in Iraq. This strategy has run its course- Iraq is under occupation, and Saddam Hussein is dead. Now what?
Compared to McCain and Hillary, Obama promises a new direction. I remain skeptical, but hopeful.
Bottom line: Ron Paul is the true “peace” candidate, but given this field, Obama is the strongest 2nd place.
