March Madness

march-madness

There has been some confusion regarding the upcoming “Ron Paul March”, scheduled for June 21, 2008.

On April 15, 2008, there is going to be an organized protest of the IRS and the Federal Income Tax. There will be a march on the White House lawn, as well as several Federal Reserve offices located throughout America. Please visit the official site for more details.

It is important to remember that this is a separate event, and this was not intended to replace the “Ron Paul March”. I have not had the time to follow the development of the April 15 event, and so I know very little about it. If I have published erroneous information here, please correct me.

Regarding the “Ron Paul March”: I recently released this YouTube video which wrongly proclaimed the date of this event to be June 21, 2008. Please note: I stand corrected. The official date of this event has not yet been selected.

So what are we waiting for? Long story short: in the not-quite-free country of America, the Federal government demands that you are approved for a permit before exercising your First-Amendment right of free assembly. Ironically, this is the the exact sort of bullshit I intend to protest at said march.

Good news: the march has been granted two permits, on two separate days. This means that the march will occur on either July 12, 2008 or August 2, 2008. In either event, the June 21, 2008 date is no longer valid. For those interested, you can help determine the date of the Ron Paul March by voting at the official (I think) site. Again, if I have published erroneous information here, please correct me.

Long story short: the Ron Paul March is going to happen. Stay tuned for the official date. Further updates as events warrant.

Spread the word. The march is on.
