Zaphod for President

Oops. Some of you may have noticed that this wonderful blog went down for a few hours. It turns out the domain had expired, marking a solemn 2-year anniversary. It was exactly two years ago that I first registered this domain, and announced to the world that I too had an opinion regarding American politics. Those past two years just flew by, didn’t they?

And while we are on the subject of anniversaries, I would like to void the 4th-dimension in order to declare that both Quinn and Spooner have been participating on this blog for the past year, so happy anniversary to them too.

In truth, this blog had a few “false starts”, a few alter-egos, and a few months of nothing somewhere along the way there. The oldest post still here was published on April 6, 2007, Spooner joined us on July 14, 2007, and Quinn came on board on January 19, 2008.

So, for the sake of simplicity, I propose we average this data in order to declare that May 1, 2008 marks the first anniversary of Zaphod for President.com. I think there is a certain irony in celebrating this momentous occasion on “May Day”, and furthermore, judging by my consistency thus far, I will be interested to learn whether or not I will remember to mark our 2nd anniversary on May 1, 2009.

A toast the truth, and here’s hoping for another happy year for our authors and readers.
