Some More Thoughts on President Obama

some-more-thoughts-on-president-obama

As regular readers of this blog already know, I am quick to point out that Barack Obama is the 21st Century poster-boy of the New World Order. It is not my intent to be redundant; rather, it is paramount to my following argument that this point be made and remembered.

Furthermore, I wish to warn my fellow Ron Paulians that this article is going to be ruthlessly honest in regards to our own movement. I am not going to pull any punches.

In December of 2008 the Ron Paul Revolution was growing exponentially, and pushing the debate for liberty to new heights. On the 16th, more than $6 million was raised in a single day. Dr. Paul continued to kick ass during the debates, and after Hucakbee’s surprise win in Iowa, the party found itself in a quagmire. But then, on January 8, 2008, the day of the New Hampshire Primary, the tables turned on the good Dr. Paul, and the momentum suddenly collapsed. A few weeks later, after mediocre results on Super Tuesday, it became clear to most that the Internet’s majority community base of under-30 hacker/slackers did not fairly represent the masses of American Republican voters.

To put it mildly: we allowed ourselves to overestimate our common man. However, there is no need for embarrassment. After all, is it not the dream of liberty to overestimate the common man, in hopes that he might achieve something wonderful?

And so, as Dr. Paul began losing, Barrack Obama began winning, and suddenly a lot of us pseudo-libertarian anarchists were forced to reconsider our opinions. The change was nearly automatic. The Internet, where Ron Paul had reigned as the undisputed king for nearly 6 months; teh interwebs, in its eternal, fickle nature, began endorsing Barrack Obama instead. Prior to March 2008, Obama was an Internet phenomenon, to be sure, but on social networking sites such as reddit and digg, he played second fiddle to Paul.

But by March 2008, digg and reddit had a change of heart. The new consensus was simple enough: Paul ain’t gonna win this, but we’ve still got a chance with Obama. Skeptics were quick to reply: Obama’s mass-marketed charm would serve as our consolation prize, and quell the revolution before it became any more dangerous.

The question now before us is this: is an Obama Presidency worth fighting for? Is it really worth the bother of going out and voting for this dude?

This morning I say to you, unquestionably and irrevocably, my opinion is yes.

First, allow me to address the skeptics.

1. Obama is a liberal socialist who will continue to bankrupt America by increasing social spending while largely ignoring our 10 trillion dollar national debt.

True.

2. Obama has been picked and groomed by the evil denizens of the New World Order to serve as a safe-guard this election.

True.

3. Ok, so either we get McCain or we get Obama. Who fucking cares? My vote won’t be counted anyway. It’s all a fucking game. I’m giving up and going home.
