A few thoughts:

1.) This has to be contrived

2.) I sure hope he did “something” else to warrant this treatment

3.) He should definitely sue for unlawfully detainment or arrest, if arrested. The damages in this case are actually clear. Those in a position of power, a/k/a “in loco parentis”, abused their fiduciary responsibility. The humiliation and psychological trauma is also actionable.

Here is the problem. There isn’t by way of monetary damages that can be established.

4.) Gosh, I said a heck of a lot worse in School than he.

That kid doesn’t know what a police state is. Much worse things occurred at my high school.

I think that there is an important point made, however. A society of people that were taught to blindly obey authority, as children, are unlikely to question authority as adults. I think this is an important part of understanding the current American population and its tendency to elect and re-elect those who abuse authority.

Perhaps the first step to reform the political process should be to reform the public school system.
