War With Russia!
08/08/08 - As the Olympic Opening Ceremony was underway. The Russian Federation took steps to invade the Republic of Georgia. Last month, America sent 1,000 Marines to train Georgians. 2,000 Georgian troops serve in Iraq, the largest number in the coalition after the United States and United Kingdom.
If Georgia is our ally in the War on Terror and they’ve been invaded, are we technically in a State of War with Russia? NO, because Russia invaded a “break away” province and because Georgia isn’t a member of NATO yet. Their application hasn’t been formally approved. It isn’t as if Russia invaded Poland, then we would be at War with NATO.
