HR1207: Another step towards victory!
From the Campaign for Liberty:
The Paul Amendment passed! 43-26! Thanks to everyone who made those calls!!!
Suck on that, Watts.
Of course we love Ron Paul, but let me also show some love for Alan Grayson and Firedoglake.
Alan Grayson has worked tirelessly since becoming a member of Congress to expose the corruption and lack of accountability at the Federal Reserve, and Firedoglake has been proud to support his efforts.
Despite the vocal opposition of Chairman Barney Frank and the fierce lobbying on the part of the central bank itself, 15 Democrats bucked leadership and the measure passed. According to the Huffington Post, “Key to winning Democratic support was a letter posted early Thursday from labor leaders and progressive economists” which was “organized by the liberal blog Firedoglake…Grayson was able to show Democratic colleagues that the liberal base was behind them.” During the committee debate, Grayson quoted from the letter.
United we stand.
Wots, uh, the deal?
So, wots, uh, the deal? Where did the Podcast go?
Our corporate overlords have demanded we make the show more “commercial friendly”, so we are currently on hiatus, retooling the show. We will return (in some form) this December, with moar pop-culture references and less issues that actually make people think (I don’t want to hurt your pretty little heads). Moar funny. Moar interesting guests. Moar boom, and less bust.
In the meantime, I just want to thank everyone who participated in the first run of the Podcast. It was a blast, and I certainly learned a lot from the experience. I think there is potential here, and I look forward to the next phase.
Obama 5.0
Moar excellent work from Kevan Balmer:
Feedback and constructive criticisms are always appreciated.
Kev- pop that collar! All douche bags wear a popped collar, and I doubt our Presidont is any exception.
Episode 14: The Last Episode

Tangent leads the panel in a discussion about the films “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Donnie Darko”, plus the book “Slaughterhouse Five” by Kurt Vonnegut, and how each relate to the concept of fate.
This will be the LAST EPISODE of the Zaphod for President podcast until December. Check the website for details.

Obama admits Guantanamo won’t close by Jan. deadline
Obama admits Guantanamo won’t close by Jan. deadline
President Obama directly acknowledged for the first time Wednesday that the prison facility at Guantanamo Bay will not close by the January deadline he set, but he said he hoped to still achieve that goal sometime next year.
Obama refused, however, to set a new deadline.
Thanks to matthew for the tip.
Episode 13: Why the media sucks

Zap leads the panel in a discussion about the media, the RIAA, the MPAA, the DMCA, and a bunch of other acronyms you probably don’t care about. We’ll also be sure to expose the fact that 5 conglomerates own everything you see, hear and think.
